Donna Popovich, Vice President of Human Resources at the University of Tampa, Receives Honorary Life Membership in CUPA-HR

Donna Popovich has received honorary life membership in the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Honorary life membership is granted to a small number of CUPA-HR leaders who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to the higher education human resources profession and long-term leadership in the association.

Popovich, a long-time member of CUPA-HR, has held many leadership positions within the association, including positions on the National Awards Committee and Learning and Professional Development Committee, chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and Public Policy Committee, president of the Florida Chapter and chair of the Southern Region board of directors. She served as chair of the national board of directors during the 2017-18 fiscal year and received CUPA-HR’s highest honor, the Donald E. Dickason Award, in 2020.

“Donna is more than a professional — she is a wonderful human who places service before self. Sharing knowledge and wisdom is her priority. Any of us who have served this organization need only spend a few minutes with Donna to appreciate her and her service,” shares fellow CUPA-HR Honorary Life Member David Blake.

Popovich will retire from the University of Tampa at the end of May 2025 after a distinguished 41-year career in higher ed HR.
